Artisoft's LANtastic system, the leader in peer-to-peer
networking for DOS and Windows - on the same network.
The powerful LANtastic networking system can be as simple
as linking two computers and a printer. Or as sophisticated
as linking more than 500 computers to each other and to modems,
CD-ROM drives, printers and other peripherals, as we do at
Artisoft headquarters. At any level, the LANtastic System is
very easy to operate, which makes it...
...the network to start with and the network to grow with.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why do so many small businesses install networks?
Save money - share high-quality perhipherals such as
faxmodems, tape backups, and laser printers among PCs
instead of buying multiple, less expensive, less efficient
perhipherals.
Save time - workers won't have to leave their desks to carry
information back and forth to other computers, or to printers.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why are more than a million PCs
networked with the LANtastic System?
Highly sophisticated yet:
-Easy to Install
-Easy to run
-Reliable
-Flexible security options
-Works with older PCs as well as the
newest models
-Surprisingly inexpensive (support
for upto 500 licensed users from
just $99)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since its introduction, the LANtastic system has won over 40 major
industry awards. It is extremely fast and reliable and
incorporates many useful management features. Artisoft's newest
release of LANtastic, version 5.0, features enhanced security
measures, integrated support for NetWare, OS/2, UNIX and other
non-DOS drivers, and improved network management capabilities.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
LANtastic was the first network to support Windows(r) and we continue our
commitment to help our users fully utilize it. In addition to providing
access to NET and NET_MGR, LANtastic includes two additional applications
that enhance business communication across the network.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Scrapbook is like your regular Windows clipboard, except it can be used
by others on the network. This makes it a convenient way to permanently
hold and share multiple items such as text, graphics and sound files.
You can even set up security to protect items in the Scrapbook. For
example, you can allow some users to copy items from the Scrapbook, but not
place or delete them.
You can create multiple Scrapbooks to store related items. For example,
if your department is working on an annual report, you can create a
Scrapbook to store all of the clip art, spreadsheets and text.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have Artisoft Sounding Boards, LAN Radio allows users to communicate
on a channel without using any of your company's phone resources. With up
to 100 channels, your business can have multiple channels in use at the
same time. A Channel Guide lets you store a list of the channels you use
most.
If you connect a broadcast source such as a radio to your computer, LAN
Radio can be used to broadcast news, information, even music, across your
network. For example, you might want to assign one channel to broadcast
financial information, so that all LAN Radio users can obtain the latest
stock market figures simply by tuning into a particular LAN Radio channel.
Simply connect your broadcast source - a radio or CD player, for example -
to the "in" port on one of the Artisoft Sounding Boards on your LAN Radio
network, using a standard RCA connector.
